Overview: The Nutley Navigator website is next up in my review of useful Nutley sites. This site is all about local Nutley businesses and the people who use them. The site is affiliated with the Nutley Journal newspaper.

General Information

Site: Nutley Navigator

Author: Nutley Journal

Category / Topic: Local News and Social Networking

Here is their description:

Hello and welcome to Nutley Navigator, part of the network, where it’s all about keeping things very local and social. This website provides a unique blend of everything you need to get more out of our wonderful community. We’re a social networking site (kinda like Facebook or Myspace) that lets you create a profile page and connect with friends and family.
And, Nutley Navigator gives you and local businesses the opportunity to know and enjoy each other better than ever. So, sign in (it’s free!) and start making friends. You can share photos and videos, join a group (or start your own), keep up with local news and what’s happening in town, enter contests, voice your opinion, find great deals from merchants, restaurants and businesses in the local area…and so much more.

Best Parts

I like how people and businesses can post their own events, pictures and videos. This adds a nice “human” feel to the site.

Could Be Better

The navigation is a little jumpy and the pages are not laid out in the most logical manner.

I was sitting in the bleachers during the Nutley baseball game against Bloomfield high and started taking a bunch of pictures on my iPhone. I used Photoshop to merge the pictures into one panorama shot. The game was back in May and it was actually pretty interesting. Nutley tied the game in the bottom of the 7th inning on a botched steal of home. Then they went on to plate the winning run on the next batter.

I can’t stand any Reality TV… Unless it involves hillbillies chasing animals and cutting down trees. Put Swamp in the title and I’m there.

NUTLEY HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC DEPARTMENT. In light of recent New Jersey budget cuts, many high schools are facing losses in the music department. However, one suburban school has thrived. Lead by department director Michael Cundari, Nutley High School’s music program has overcome budget cuts and helped instill confidence in its students.
